“Now, that is the meaning of GREAT service, keep up the good service Brent”

I am arrived for my first time visit to the Sosua area of the Dominican Republic on a Jet blue flight that was more than 2 hours late. The owner of http://www.perladesosua.com, Brent Lewis was scheduled to meet and greet me at 12:30am, yes the owner, at 12:30am

I could not imagine that first, the hotel would agree to meet me at 12:30am and second that the owner of the property himself would do this task, but lastly and most importantly was my late flight did NOT actually arrive until 2:30am, so my assumption was that Brent Lewis would not be there and I would NOT be able to check in at the odd hour of 3am in the morning.

Well, to my Surprise the owner of Perla de Sosua was waiting for me as I exited the airport terminal, and personally checked me into my very nice fully equipped 2 bedroom apartment at the odd hour of 3am

NOW that is meaning of “great” service!, keep up the good work Brent!

Recently, a funny book about the behaviour of the Dominicans and in particular on the characteristics of the people of Sosúa came out.

The author is a Christian Hugo, from Germany and for three years a resident in Cabarete. In his homeland, he was a teacher of foreign languages, and now he enjoys his well-deserved retirement but he still teaches English and German in the Casa Goethe Institute in Sosúa. Christian is also a good observer, and in those three years he has observed his surroundings and well summarized his impressions in a book. He describes the characteristics of the Dominicans and the bad habits of the foreigners who want to start a living in paradise. He does that with funny anecdotes, beautiful color illustrations and short poems. The book is available on various Internet sites for 9 Euro.
